Cookie policy

Only the cookies we need.

The WhizInvoice app uses a few strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and safe. Our website uses none. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies anywhere.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way, and this policy covers them too.

2. Cookies in the app

The app at app.whizinvoice.com sets only strictly necessary cookies. They are first party cookies, set by and sent only to app.whizinvoice.com.

  • whizinvoice-session: your session cookie, which keeps you signed in as you move between pages. It is encrypted, sent only over secure connections, hidden from scripts on the page (httpOnly), and not sent with requests that start on other websites (SameSite Lax). It expires 2 hours after your last activity.
  • XSRF-TOKEN: a security cookie that protects your forms against cross site request forgery, a kind of attack where another website tries to act in your name. It is sent only over secure connections and expires 2 hours after your last activity.
  • remember_web, followed by a code: set only if you tick “Keep me signed in”. It keeps you signed in on that browser until you sign out, for up to 400 days.

The app does not use analytics, advertising or social media cookies, and it does not use local storage or similar technologies to track you.

3. Our website

Our website at whizinvoice.com does not set cookies on visitors’ devices. It loads no analytics, advertising pixels or third party scripts when you visit, and our fonts are served from our own server.

The website runs on WordPress. WordPress sets its own sign in cookies only for our staff, when they sign in to manage the site.

4. The Freemius checkout

When you click a button to buy a plan, the checkout of Freemius, our reseller and merchant of record, loads from checkout.freemius.com and opens on top of the page. Nothing from Freemius loads until you click.

The checkout may set its own cookies, and so may PayPal if you choose to pay with it. We do not control these cookies. Freemius explains them in its own privacy and cookie notices.

5. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the app’s cookies, you will not be able to sign in, because the app needs them to work. Our website works fully without cookies.

6. Europe and the United Kingdom

6.1 European Union and EEA

The ePrivacy Directive, as each EU and EEA country has put it into law, requires consent for cookies unless they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. Every cookie the app sets is strictly necessary, so none needs consent, and we do not show a cookie banner.

If we ever want to use cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first, and saying no will be as easy as saying yes.

6.2 United Kingdom

The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, take the same approach: strictly necessary cookies do not need consent. All our cookies are strictly necessary. If we ever use others, we will ask for your consent first wherever the law requires it.

6.3 Switzerland

Swiss law requires us to tell you which cookies we use, why, and how you can refuse them. This policy does that, and section 5 explains how to refuse them.

7. United States

We do not use cookies to sell or share personal information, or for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. We still honour the Global Privacy Control signal, as our Privacy policy explains.

We do not track you across other websites, so a browser Do Not Track signal does not change anything.

8. Canada

Under PIPEDA and the provincial privacy laws, we tell you about the cookies we use. Ours are needed to provide the app you asked for, so we rely on your implied consent when you sign in, as the law allows for cookies like these.

We do not use any technology that identifies, locates or profiles you. If we ever did, Quebec law would require it to be switched off until you choose to turn it on, and we would do that.

9. Australia and New Zealand

Information collected through cookies may be personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 in Australia and the Privacy Act 2020 in New Zealand. We handle it as our Privacy policy explains, and we use it only to keep the app working and secure.

10. Everywhere else

Many countries, such as Brazil, India, Japan, Singapore and South Africa, treat information from cookies as personal data when it can be linked to you. Our approach is the same everywhere: only strictly necessary cookies in the app, no cookies on our website, and no tracking.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy before we add any new cookie, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
