Switch from Zoho Invoice

Past Zoho Invoice's 500 a year? Time to move

Zoho Invoice is free and does a lot for nothing. When a busy service business runs into its yearly invoice limit, or wants website enquiries to arrive ready to bill, this guide shows how the two compare and how to move.

Why busy service businesses outgrow Zoho Invoice

Credit where it is due: Zoho Invoice gives you quotes, recurring invoices, automatic payment reminders, customer statements and apps for phone and desktop, all free. For a small or seasonal business, that is hard to beat, and if you send fewer than 500 invoices a year it may be all you need.

The limit is the turning point. Zoho Invoice allows up to 500 invoices a year, which is around 41 a month. A cleaning or pest control business doing a few jobs a day passes that well before the year ends, and Zoho Invoice has no paid plan to step up to; Zoho points businesses with bigger needs to its other products instead.

WhizInvoice has no invoice limit on any plan, Free included, and it brings the enquiries from your own websites into one list, ready to quote or invoice.

Zoho Invoice facts checked October 2026 on zoho.com/us/invoice: the pricing page, the features page and Zoho Invoice help articles on recurring invoices, payment reminders, multi currency, customer statements and exporting data. Zoho Invoice is a trademark of its owner, named only to identify the product. WhizInvoice is not affiliated with Zoho.

When Zoho Invoice is still the better choice

If you send fewer than 500 invoices a year, do not take website enquiries, and want recurring invoices and statements without paying anything, Zoho Invoice is a sensible choice and you may not need to move.

If you already run your business on other Zoho apps, such as Zoho Books or Zoho CRM, keep using them for what they do well. WhizInvoice does not connect to or sync with any Zoho product, and like Zoho Invoice it is not full accounting software.

Move from Zoho Invoice in four steps

  1. Export your customers

In Zoho Invoice, open Customers, use the menu at the top of the list and choose Export Customers. Pick CSV or XLS and export.

  2. Export your items

Open Items, use the same menu, choose Export Items and pick CSV. Your items become your WhizInvoice price list.

  3. Load them into WhizInvoice

On Starter or above, upload the files and match Zoho’s columns to name, email, phone, address, postcode and price.

  4. Pick your country and link your sites

Choose your country in Settings so currency and tax follow on every invoice, then connect your websites to start receiving enquiries.

Details worth checking

  • Password protected exports

Zoho can protect an export with a password. If you set one, unzip the file before you upload it to WhizInvoice.

  • Contact persons

Zoho exports contact persons separately from customers. Decide which email each customer should receive invoices at before you import.

  • Recurring profiles

Note each recurring invoice you have in Zoho, then set it up again in WhizInvoice so regular customers keep being billed.

  • Keep your old invoices

Export or download your past invoices from Zoho Invoice for your records. The WhizInvoice import covers customers and prices.
