For possum and wildlife removal

Invoicing for possum removal and proofing work

Most wildlife jobs start with a worried message about noises in the roof and finish with mesh, sealant and a return visit. WhizInvoice keeps every stage of a possum or wildlife job in writing, from the website enquiry to the paid tax invoice.

Why wildlife jobs are hard to invoice

  • The price depends on the roof

You rarely know the full cost until you have been up there and found every gap. Send a quote from your phone that the owner accepts online on Starter, and it becomes the invoice without retyping.

  • Removal and proofing as separate lines

Removing the possum, sealing entry points and fitting mesh are different pieces of work. Listing each one shows the owner why proofing matters and what it costs.

  • Return visits to check

Proofing jobs often need a second visit to make sure the roof is clear and sealed. Add it from your saved prices, or show it on the first invoice as included.

  • Bird proofing under solar panels

Pigeons and mynas nesting under panels are priced per panel or per metre of mesh. Save both rates, type the count, and the total and GST follow.

  • Deposits for materials

Proofing a two storey roof means buying mesh and sealant before you start. A deposit on the accepted quote covers that outlay, and the final invoice takes it off.

  • Unpleasant, urgent jobs

A possum that has died in a wall cavity needs removing and the area deodorising quickly. With both priced as saved services, you can invoice before you leave instead of trying to remember details later.

From noises in the roof to a paid invoice

  1. They describe what they hear

Your form asks what the noise is like, when it happens and where in the house. The enquiry lands with their suburb and phone number so you can call back and book.

  2. Quote once you have seen the roof

Send a quote from your phone with removal, proofing and materials on separate lines. The owner accepts it online.

  3. Do the work, finish the invoice

Add any extra entry points you sealed, attach photos of the mesh and sealed gaps on Starter, and send the tax invoice.

  4. Paid while you climb the next ladder

You see when the owner opens it, and reminders follow up until it is paid.

Example: possum removal and roof proofing

A possum is living in the roof of a single storey home. The job covers removal, sealing four entry points, mesh along the eaves and a return check.

Keep the paperwork as tidy as the roof

Every enquiry from your website sits in one list you can search by postcode, so before you price a job you can see what you have already done in that street. Owed, overdue and paid sit side by side, so a busy week never hides an unpaid roof.

Questions

Good to know

Should I quote first or invoice straight away?

For a quick job at a known entry point, invoicing straight from the enquiry is fine. For proofing a whole roof, send a quote the owner can accept online on Starter, so the price is agreed before you start.

Can I bill the return check separately?

Save it as its own service and add it when you go back, or list it on the first invoice as included. Either way the customer sees it in writing.

How do I take a deposit for mesh and materials?

On Starter, put a deposit on the quote. When the owner accepts and pays it, the final invoice shows the deposit taken off and only the balance due.

Can I invoice the landlord when the tenant called me?

Send the invoice to the owner or agency that agreed to pay for the work, with the property address in the description. The tenant who rang you does not need to be billed at all.

Can I invoice bird proofing per panel?

Save a rate per panel or per metre of mesh, type the number, and WhizInvoice works out the total and adds GST at 10%.
